If we speak about the clamcleat system, this should not give any problem.
Depending on the diameter of your boom, you might need to put some material inbetween the clamholder and the boom to prevent it from slipping, or use the bigger (brown) clampholder that was delivered with the package of the diameter of the boomtube is to big.
hope this helps,
Those clam cleats that fix to the boom arms really scratch up your sails. This can be fixed with Velcro. Velcro comes in rolls with an adhesive backing. You cut a short length of the soft loop pile side of the velcro and stick it on the the plastic clamp... voila, no more sail scratch.

Wal,
great idea, evenbetter then sticking protective foil on the sail.
That I have not thought about it myself?
Thanks for the tip,

Mr. Saxo,
I understood now that you were not speaking about the clamcleats but about the rear rollers.
This means you are refering to the aluminium Gun boom 250-300 and not the carbon one since it has integrated rollers in the end-piece.
Using rope to fix to catrols (correct name?) or rollers to the rear-end should work perfect.
I have done it in the past, onlyneed to figure out what is the best way to guide and fix the rope.
Check the ropes on a regular base for shafe marks and use 5-6mm ropes with dyneema or kevlar core.
PS: take care if using this aluminium boom on 9+ sails. The 2002-2003 one was way too soft and the profile was completely destroyed in the wind gusts.
The only alu boom that is rigid enough in those lengths is to my experience the Nautix Jumbo race, excists in 220-270 and 240-290. It costs only 163€ in Europe.

You are rather light and 9.5 is not that big, so it might just work.
I don't know if the 2004 has changed and is stiffer.
If you really feel it is to weak, you can always stiffen it up by using the "rope throught the sail" system. This can easely be applied and will make a huge difference for that boom. I have used it for some years on my 12.0 before nautix came with the high modulus carbon boom.

it's the 2004 boom I think, because i buy it new at gun's site, so normally it will be the 2004
