I have spent a fair amount of time on the new Speedslider 69 and 79. For '04 these are all new shapes and will come in the following sizes:

speedslider 69 255 x 69 120 liters
speedslider 79 255 x 79 140 liters
speedslider 89 255 x 89 170 liters

The new boards are even better than the '03 models. With move "V" and concave in the bottom, combined with dual-density shock absorbers, these boards offer the ultimate in a smooth, fast ride. The boards are deceptively fast. Most sailors comment that they do not feel that fast until they compare speeds with other models--this is because they ride so amazingly smooth! All three sizes will be available in two different constructions; a standard speedslider construction, and a more economical (but slightly heavier) construction. The speedslide 69 and 79 are currently in stock in the standard construction. The other boards will be available in early Spring. You can get more details on Exocet's website at: www.exocet-original.com

Hi Des:

The ideal sail range for the Speed Slider 69 is 6.0 to 9.0. The board rides a little bigger than most 120 liter boards. I rode the board with a 9.0 Rapid Fire in flat water it felt great. I have also sailed it in the ocean on an up and down day in big waves with a 6.2 Phantom. I think with sails as small as 6.2 any board this big is better in flatter water.
