Steve,

Most sailmakers introduce this year a sail in between the 11 and 12.5. Are there plans to develope a 11.7 orso of the VMG??

Lighter surfers will not go for 12.5 because of the added drag that can not be overcome with the lighter weight. So a 11.7 would be a better fit. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for responding and congrats on the forum

J_W,

I know I'm not Steve, but I used the 2003 VMG 11 and 12.5 so I know the 11 very good.

The 11 has a huge windrange, down and up and is more then big enough for the lighter people to use as biggest sail.
The 2004 will be even more powerfull (longer boom).
Another great thing about the 11 is the fact that you can use it on a 520/34 mast. So 9.0/9.8/11.0 all on the same mast!

J_W,
I also thought that I needed a sail in between the 11 and the 12.5. That changed as soon as I sailed the new 2004 11m VMG.
It is very powerfull in the low range winds. The high end is also outstanding. I sailed it at 24knots with control and speed.

As a percent difference, wouldn't being on an 11.5(7) be too close to a 11 or 12.5? There's that whole scientific graph that shows that the force of wind at 8 mph is x% weaker than at 12mph...

Hello:

We are not planing on introducing an 11.7 at this time. We have been working hard on improving the range of the 11.0 and 12.5. We will probable test some 11.7 sail but not sure about its future
