Picked up the Turbo Boost 75. Surprizingly light compared to other exocets. What is the diff? Will I crush it? Friends who have it rave about it. Whats the biggest sail for it? 100kgs 170cm.

Hello Too fat,
I used the TB75 last month with the upwind kit.
I put on it a Stealth 9.5 (I am 1.75 and 95kg) and it was suitable, easy and fast but I think that it is the max you can put on it.
The construction is full carbon, it is light, stiff and strong, even if I read on the *board forum that this kind of construction is more sensitive to little impacts on the deck than their carbon wood construction.
I want to change my Speed Slider 77 and I am waiting for the S4 (Full carbon as well) a little bit more free-race and less slalom but more suitable for a heavy guy with big sails who does not want to ride a Formula board.
Excuse my English

I must say I prefer the all carbon above the wood construction.

The wooden decks seems to soften more after some strong usage then the one with more carbon. Also if there is water going in the laminate, wood is sucking it up and loosing strength.

I own a TB65 and I love it, biggest sail I use on it is 7,5. But I'm still waiting for the upwind kit. I think I will Love the board even more with this small add on.

I heard the upwind kits are now available in the US. How do I get one?

Hi Too Fat:

The upwind kit is coming standard with all 2004 Turbo Boost boards. The kit is really clean. Just remove fin put the plate in the recess and put the fin through the plate with the longer bolts that come with the kit. For lightwind and upwind use the kit, for reaching and downwind the board is faster without it.It also makes the board usable with a set forward weed fin.

Best Regards:
Steve
