What happened to the Exocet Compact Move line? These Compact Carves are replacing them? What about something in the 110-120 ltr range?

Hi Chuck:
The Compact Moves have been replaced by the Compact Carves. For 2004 there is a 93 liter and 103 liter version. The 115 liter Compact Move is still available on closeout but supply is limited. The new boards should be available in the USA market in February.

Hi Steve: I own a C99 wood and want to replace it. Right now I am looking at a C111 Wood and Hifly Move 105. I like the C99 but want a bit more volume for our gusty winds here in SW Florida. How does the new Compact Carve 103 compare and if available how does the Compact Move 100 compare to my current board and the ones I am looking at.
Thanks
Steve

Hi Vince:
The Carve 99 is a real nice board. The Compact Carve is a similar style board. The Compact Carve is 4 cm wider and has a bit more volume so it should give you some more water time. The Compact move 100 is still available in limited numbers. It is 3cm wider then your Carve but the volume is very close. The new Dual Density shock absorbers really make a difference on the new board. The ride will be softer on the new board because of this. The Compact Move 100 was one of Exocets best selling boards and has many happy owners.

The HiFly is a great light wind wave board. I used it in HI, briefly. Emphasis on turning on a wave, not blasting around in the gulf. Freeride boards have been better for me most of the time on the east coast mixed conditions. C111 is a great stick too. I like them and the EXO's. Width ends up giving us better stability nonplaning and pops us all up onto one earlier too.

I've got a C111 DRAM (they had to replace my wood since it delam'ed) .... it's a sweet board, but it would be nice to have someone make big guy light air wave boards instead of forcing us to compromise with other non-wave boards. Something in the 110-120 liter range would rock. ;-)

Thanks Steve: Can you tell us if the CC103 is more freeride in shape or is it more freestyle/wave.
Thanks everyone else for their comments.

Hi Vince:
I would classify the Compact Carve 103 as a multi purpose board with an emphasis on Freeriding. It will cross over to freestyle fairly welll and it is more versatile than a dedicated freestyle board. You can certainly use it for light wind wavesailing but it will not be as loose as an Original Wave 105. The boards best attributes are its versatility, it works well in onshore ugly wave sailing and flat water freeriding.

Hey guys,
I had a c99 ( very nice to ride) and currently have a compact move 100. The big difference is in the width... the cm100 just planes much better in gusty winds and also coming out of jibes. It has helped me nail a lot of freestyle stuff I had been trying for 6months on the c99.

Thanks for the reply on the Compact Move 100. I will use the board mainly as a BAF board and in chop. Did you find the Compact Move 100 equal to the C99 in these conditions. I am still trying to get 100% of my jibes on a 100 liter board.
Thanks

Rather than say one is better than another, wouldn't it be fair to say wider boards allow for turns in a lower windspeed?
