First is there any place i can get stats and pics of the 2001-2002-2003 sails. And is the 2002 Air strong enough to go into 2meter waves? Thanx

If all the competitor wavesails with monofilmpanels are ok to be used in big waves, it is also ok for the Air.
The behaviour of the 2003 Air (small sizes) was even excelent for wavesailing.
Offcourse, the charge and phantom are stronger with the all grid construction and double mastsleeve seams, but air is an cheaper alternative.

The materials used in the 7.0 Air are suitable for wave sailing with the exception of the tube battens. Tube battens are designed for flat water and if you drop the sail in any surf or shore pound you run the risk of breaking these battens. If you replace these battens the sail would work better for ocean use but you will give up some stability and range. As Koen said the Phantom or Charge would be a better option.

6.4 and below, the Air has rod battens throughout. Great design at an affordable price. Oh yeah, the phantom should fill the niche for heavyweights like me for light wind wave catching. Been using the 7.8 in years past. Now the 7.4 phantom will work.

I've been looking at the 7.4 Phantom as a light air wave sail for here on Lake Michigan. How well does it work on a NoLimitz Skiny mast?

The 7.4 Phantom is designed around a 460/25. I have sailed it on both a skinny and a regular mast. For sailors over 180lbs I think the regular mast will work better. Lighter weight sailors can go either way. With a Skinny you will lose some stability and range but the increase in durability maybe worth it for some conditions.

I switched to skiny masts 'cause I got sick of breaking 3-4 masts a year. The last day I was sailing 'fat' masts, I broke two in a row on my 7.0 Charge and just about trashed the mast sleeve...switched to skinny's and have'nt broken one in 3 years. ;-) (knock on wood!)
Being a big guy, I can feel the skinny masts flexing a little more on my larger sails, but overall, I prefer them not only in durability, but in handling.
Steve - Can I get a 7.4 Phantom in blue and white?

We will get our first shipment of Phantoms in about 4weeks for the USA market. I will not know the color combinations until that time. Blue and white is an option on the phantom but we will have to wait and see.
