I am going to buy a new mast and was thinking about a skinny. Can they be used with any sail? I will get a new boom as well, but I am concerned about using them with my existing sails.

If you are speaking about wave and freestyle sails upto 6.0mē, there is no problem to go for skinny.
A boom adapterpiece is delivered with the masts so no problem for a good and secure boom/mast connection.
Even for small freeride sails a skinny will work.
A good alternative is the skinny mast with normal diameter at the bottom so you can keep on using all your extensions (powerex z-taper)
I have even rigged one time a slalom sail on a skinny (z-taper). It was not perfect since the cams where to wide for the mast, but as an emergency solution it worked

Thanks Koen, my 6.5 and 5.5 are camless, so I guess they would work, I was concerned about my 4.75 as it has cams.

On all my wave sails (charge) I have skinny masts.
They work perfect and have good power.
The air 5.8. air works better with a thicker mast. especially in low wind.

Hi
I think it depends exactly which sails you have currently that are cammed, or even non cammed!
For instance, NP's don't generally respond any better with a skinny than SDM.
Sails in the size of 6.5 also don't generally work well with RDMS.
Soft cams work better with RDM's than hard cams, but specific cases can be exceptions.
Why not just state which sails you have, then we'll have a better idea which works for your RDM's and which won't.
Up to you, of course.
