Sorry for my previous messy message!
I am really interested in the new S3, S4 and I am wondering wich one would suit better my needs, I weight 58 kg and I sail actually a Turbo Formula and a Turbo 75 that is a great board but lacks upwind abiliy. Is it the S3 better for me? It is as faster than the T75? What range of sails does it carry (even 9,8 or I would have to buya 9.) Is it a real slalom board so they can compete with my friend who sail a Falcon 72. It is a good compromise as a second board with my Turbo Formula or you would suggest any way theS4 to have the maximum light wind ability. What size of fins the two boards can use? Thank you very muchfor all my questiond.
Regards. Claudio

Hi Claudio:

For someone your size I think the S3 would be a good choose. It will certainly carry a 9.8 sail but I think the board is better with a 9.0. With a 9.8 you will definitely want to go larger than the stock 40 cm fin. I would say a 46 to 48 would be ideal with the 9.8. The S models are more up wind oriented than the Turbo Boost models. The S 3 should be faster than the Turbo Boost 75 but not quite as fast as the TB 65. The S 3 and S 4 are very tunable by changing fin size. With small fins they are very slalom oriented while adding a big fin they feel like mini formula boards.

TB 75 goes upwind way better with a 53cm fin. If you have something close, try that. The stock fin works when the board is really lit or you are actually using it for a downwind slalom race.

Same question: 80...82kg (without equip), 1.88, 1 year in windsurf. I am on exocet XL99 with 11m2 for formula race and Starboard Go165 with 6.8 for 8 type slalom. So, I need new slalom board to join with 7.5 and may be with ~6m2. (80% flat water, 20% in see with 1...3 m waives). S3, S4 or TB75, TB65? Step from my (smallest) 165 liter board to ~105 or ~125?
What fins sizes best to use with 6 and 7.5 sails with Your suggested board?

With best regards
R.G.

Hi RG

I think you should be looking at the TB 65 and the S3. I think the the S4 and th TB 75 are not high wind enough boards to complement the boards you already own. If all out reaching speed is what you are looking for I would go for the TB 65. If you prefer more upwind performance than the S3 should be your choice. Either way you will not be disappointed.
